Inje University Design Research Institute (Director Jin-kyung Paik) held the theme of'Environment Based u-Healthcare Design' at Indang Hall, Inje University, Gimhae on May 30 (Tuesday) at 2:00 PM. Academic, research and industrial research outcomes exchange meeting was held.
The Research Results Exchange Meeting, supported by the National Research Foundation of Korea, was set up as a place to share opinions on the realization of integrated healthcare design and effective performance prospects through design, and to spread the research results.
The research achievement exchange meeting was attended by 150 people from domestic and foreign academics, research circles, and industries, including Inje University Design Research Institute, Korea Institute of Health and Medical Research, Hawaii State University, Sogang University, Life Science Technology, and Chinese and foreign information technology.
At the exchange meeting, starting with the congratulatory speech of the Korea Research Foundation Secretary-General Kim Joon-dong ▲Introduction of integrated u-Healthcare Design (Director of Inje University Design Research Institute Baek Jin-gyeong) ▲The need for an evidence-based integrated research on medical, ICT, and design ▲Bridge between u-Healthcare Design and Public Health-Link between health care and healthcare design (Ahn Ji-young, visiting professor at Hawaii State University) ▲STAR: Senior Technology Application in Realtime to promote Quality of Care and Quality of Life- Real-time Elderly Medical Device to Improve (Prof. Claudio Nigg, Hawaii State University) ▲ Healthy Aging as a Solution to the'Ticking Time Bomb': Dealing with Aging Population in Urban China-Health Solution to Cope with Urbanization in China and Changes in the Elderly Population (Almas Heshmati, Professor of Economics, Sogang University) ▲Wearable device for healthcare with daily self-generated events-Healthcare solution reflecting information from daily life (Jung-Hwan Kim, CEO of Life Science Technology) ▲ Smart healthcare system based on information environment (Wanse Lee ( The subject presentation was continued with the content of the director of CNU Information Technology Co., Ltd.
Director Baek Jin-kyung said, “As society is aging and the public's interest in health increases, I agree that healthcare design needs an integrated approach in all related fields, rather than focusing on either medical or design. The role of design is very important for the advancement of technology,” he said. “Through this exchange meeting, we would like to find an advanced solution that can realize an integrated medical environment and information environment-based healthcare design.”
The Design Research Institute of Inje University is the only research center designated by the National Research Foundation of Korea selected in 2011. Researchers majoring in health care, statistics, physical education, engineering, and humanities participated in design with the theme of <Integrated u Health Care Design Research>. Convergence research is in progress.
