Awarded ‘Excellent Research’ by Ministry of Education 2019

Inje University's Multimedia Department Prof. Jin-kyung Paik received the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Award in recognition of the achievements of the Korea Research Foundation's University Focus Research Center support project <Integrated u Healthcare Design Research> at the 2019 Ministry of Education Academic Research Excellence Awards held on December 17, 2019 . The Ministry of Education commendation of 50 research achievements announced last year, which received excellent evaluations in three areas: Humanities and Social Sciences (30 selections), Science and Engineering (15 selections), and Korean Studies (5 selections).

Inje University's Design Research Center, led by Professor Jin-Kyung Paik, is attracting attention from the academic world for its research achievements in <Integrated u Health Care Design Research>, a convergence research centered on design. Prof. Jin-kyung Paik, who is conducting research that combines healthcare and design at Inje University, the center of medical and biomedical science, is the first in Korea to establish and operate a design room in a hospital in 1988. We are leading the field of healthcare design research. She is striving to give back and share the results of healthcare design research to society through the Journal of Integrated Design Research Journal, UHS Seminar Review Collection, and research series published by the Inje University Design Research Institute.

This award by Director Jin-kyung Paik is the second after receiving the <2014 Ministry of Education Academic Research Support Excellence> for the research series of <user-centered u healthcare design>, and active academic activities such as the president-elect of the Korean Society of Design Studies and the vice president of the Korean Health Care Design Society. Through this, we are contributing to the development of design studies and broadening the horizons.
